Really good, dark and funny. (Of course it's good though- you wrote it.) I'm a visual learner through and through so since you asked, I'm reading from the page. I'd be interested to know what your experience with audio on Substack has been, though.

Thank you Jean! I'm happy you liked it. And thank you for letting me know how you prefer to engage with my writing.

Regarding my experience with audio, recording is simple for me. I use a microphone plugged in to my laptop and do simple editing with free software. I've also enjoyed hearing other writers read their own work. There are one or two I prefer listening to, but otherwise I'd still rather read off the page.

Good to know. As I've mentioned on Black Moon Journal, I've been experimenting with Spoken, which uses AI to produce audio versions. But they just don't sound natural. It does seem that some readers prefer audio, though. I'll have to think about trying that!

Brilliant — I laughed a lot. Alone. In the car.

It’s got some subtle depth to it too— the think piece he wants to write, the rentees attitude toward renters. Seriously loved this.

I love to hear that this made you laugh. I'm so happy you enjoyed it and that some of the deeper themes came through.

I never know if people are listening to the audio or reading off the page, so I appreciate you telling me.
