The image of Mary Lennox's secret garden! I'm going to hold onto that for hope. This was such a thoughtful read, and so wonderful to hear that the world is opening its secrets back up to you...or perhaps they were never 'secret', they were just waiting to be noticed beyond the clamour of everything else!

Just so! It was very much an inability and at times unwillingness to see. But there was a certain amount of overwhelm which made it difficult to even conceive of noticing the world. If I'd considered it before I was ready, the thought alone would've exhausted me to the point of a Netflix binge.

I'm so happy for you!! Your newsletter has been inspiring me to follow my own way out of the maze of screens. It's not always easy, but it's amazing how much more time I've gained from working on this. Time to dream and time to do ... I hope you're reading lots of lovely books.

What a lovely comment, thank you. I'm so glad you've found your time enriched by moving away from the artificial glow. You never regret it. And yes, I'm reading some wonderful books. Right now, most of my focus is on Flannery O'Connor's book Mystery and Manners. I've never felt so challenged in my writing as I do reading it. I'm preparing to read George MacDonald's The Princess and the Goblin and to reread Lewis's The Horse and His Boy. Lots of magic heading my way. I hope the same for you.

I keep hearing whispers of Flannery O'Connor in every corner, which makes me think it might be time to pick her up ... You'll have loads of fun with The Princess and the Goblin!! It was one of my favorites growing up.

I look forward to it. And once you've read Flannery O'Connor, I hope you'll write a little something on your thoughts.

I will! I've got a whole mess of books to get through first, but that's a joy, not a burden.
