You always have the most peaceful tone and wisdom. Thank you so much for providing such a warm light.

Thank you for being here and listening. Means the world to me.

It’s a wonderful idea, Jennifer, and I’m glad you’ll be able to take some time off! I need to get outdoors more, as well - thankfully, for once, I’m actually keeping some plants alive, which is a nice little escape during the day!

You’re blessed to have ways to connect in the real world! I should see whether there’s anything similar around here, as I’ve been starting to wish I had more real-world interactions, as well.

I’ve been needing to take a month or two off from Substack increasingly frequently, so posting less often is probably going to be helpful for me on that front. I’ve also mostly stopped putting energy into notes, which I think helps me.

That's great to hear! I enjoy Notes, but it can become too much for me if I'm trying to do them daily.

I'm very blessed to be able to take time off. I'll still be working during that time, but I'll be catching up on some neglected tasks and figuring out where I can share my work in the real world.

Congratulations on your houseplants! I've got a few houseplants myself this year, and I've actually managed to keep them alive. I'll be using my month off to clear my flowerbeds and hopefully prepare the space for a vegetable garden.

For real-world interactions, you might check to see if your town has Meetup.com events for writers or Shut Up & Write events. You can also check with libraries, bookstores, and coffee shops. Check local colleges and community centers for classes. My town and another town an hour away both have zine conventions, so that's a fun way of sharing your work with others. Leave copies of your work in little free libraries. If you think of anything else, please let me know. I'm trying to compile a list of in-person writing communities.

Wonderful! I hope both endeavors work out! I’d really like to grow vegetables (especially tomatoes!). I’ve failed in the past, but now that I’m more diligent in watering everything, maybe?

Thank you for the ideas! I’m going to have to look into them! I don’t know if any little free libraries around here, though I’ve run into them in other towns. Maybe I ought to just keep some copies in the car!

That's an excellent idea. You never know when you'll have the chance to share your work. :)
